This musical movement combines the cheerful melody of the French CanCan from "Orphée aux Enfers" (1858) by Jacques Offenbach with the iconic Art Nouveau poster Chat Noir (1896) by Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen. Le Chat Noir was the legendary cabaret in Montmartre, Paris, where the CanCan found its home. A wonderful French-artistic combination! The musical movement is mounted on a small wooden board, which gives the melody a louder and fuller sound.
