Hava Nagila is a traditional Jewish folk song based on a Ukrainian Hasidic melody. The lyrics mean "Let us rejoice and be happy." It was first written down in 1918 by Abraham Zevi Idelsohn. Worldwide, it is the symbol of Jewish festivity, indispensable at bar mitzvahs and weddings.
