Sur le Pont d'Avignon is a 15th-century French children's song, based on the famous Pont Saint-Bénézet in Avignon. The bridge was built in the 12th century but was never completed — only four arches remain. The song describes how people danced on the bridge. One of the most famous French children's songs in the world! The musical movement is mounted on a small wooden board, which gives the melody a louder and fuller sound.
