This music mechanism by Fridolin combines the enchanting melody of Tchaikovsky's Flower Waltz from The Nutcracker Ballet with Van Gogh's Café Terrace at Night (1888), painted in Arles. It was the first work on which Van Gogh painted a starry sky, a year before the famous Starry Night. The music mechanism is mounted on a small wooden board, which gives the melody a louder and fuller sound.
