Dick Bruna (1927-2017) was a graphic designer and illustrator from Utrecht, known worldwide as the creator of Miffy. He deliberately used simple shapes, bright primary colours and clear black lines. As a result, his illustrations are instantly recognisable and appeal to both children and adults. Miffy has now been translated into more than fifty languages and has won over millions of hearts.
