Dick Bruna (1927-2017) was a graphic designer and illustrator from Utrecht, known worldwide as the creator of Miffy. He deliberately used a limited palette of bright colours and clear black lines. It is precisely this simplicity that has made his illustrations instantly recognisable worldwide and appeals to both children and adults.
