Zorba the Greek (Sirtaki) was composed by Mikis Theodorakis for the film of the same name (1964) starring Anthony Quinn. The sirtaki is not actually a traditional Greek dance but was specially conceived for the film as a combination of slow and fast Greek dance styles. Nevertheless, it became the worldwide symbol of Greek culture.
