Lambada was released in 1989 by Kaoma and was a worldwide summer hit. The sensual Brazilian dance was temporarily banned in some countries due to its intimate dance style. The song was based on the Bolivian song "Llorando se fue" by Los Kjarkas and was one of the best-selling singles of 1989.
